Here are several movies that I have decided should not be forgotten.
If you have seen one, please let me know. They are rare beauties.

A Far Off Place (with Reece Witherspoon...before she was famous)
Bejeweled (classic made-for-tv disney)
The Brave Little Toaster (along with his buddy the vacuum cleaner)
UHF (Weird Al, Spatula City!, We don't need no stinkin' badgers)

That is all for my list today. I am sure this will be continued later.

I've decided that a smoothie is a great idea. And it doesn't even have to have frozen yogurt in it to be good. You can eat it and say...I am eating FOUR fruits, which should really help me meet my food pyramid needs. And it is sweet, like dessert.
I must have a screw loose thinking that fruit can substitute for dessert. Mom...I hope you're not reading this. But then she would say..."That fruit is not fresh, it has all sorts of toxic chemicals in it. Get organic. Put spinach in your smoothie. You won't taste it." Actually, I am not hypothesizing. She actually told me to put spinach in my smoothie the other day. I'm thinking...Pink versus green. I guess I am still on the color stage as opposed to the health awareness stage. OH WELL. I am YOUNG. I am VIVACIOUS. I will probably pay dearly in the long run. Maybe not, I am already dealing with neck pain from stretching. And not the "pre-exercise stretch" that comes with healthy 3 times a week for 30 minute behavior, no no...a "Now that was a good sleep, and this will be a great stretch, yawn...UGH". Not good.

Right now I am killing the wee morning hours until I allow myself to sleep. Tomorrow night is my first 12 hour night shift. I just worked a 12 hour day today. Tying to adjust. I listened to wedding song possibilities with my engaged roommate. Watched Alias (taped) and Everwood. 1:57 AM. What to do next. I have almost been up 24 hours (ok 20.5 to be exact). Got up at 5:25 yesterday. I very much doubt that I will make it to 5. I'm giving myself 30 more minutes.

I have a mini-calendar on my desk with a rather odd picture for October. At first glance you think to yourself...now look at that, a bunch of Autumn leaves. You smile, dip briefly into that cool, crisp land of Fall and then continue to email. That is how it goes with first glances. But once you look again you shake your head and think...now am I imagining this or do those happy Autumn leaves look like they have chicken pox? I'm not kidding. These leaves are really weird. Maybe some artist was trying to be artsy with leaves and glue and flour, but now it's looking like these leaves have been under a crusty old log for some time wasting away. They should have stayed beneath that log instead of seeking fame through photography.

Fall should be a pleasant death. A slow pale-ing, a silent shiver, with a few colorful dolls around. Like in Little Women when Jo turns to see the curtains sway in the chilly breeze and turns back to see that Beth has died. That's the Fall that eases me into winter. Resolved sadness. These leaves from my calendar, on the other hand, are just the dirty tissue piles and the empty toilet paper roll that remind me of the constant maintenance and striving for something that won't last anyway. Mindfully forgotten. My pictured Fall comes with leaves of momentary purpose that don't mind the nonsense of simply vanishing into memory with the next windy gust. But which really last?
