Today was very exciting at work. I got to give epinephrine for the first time, although it was not the "swing and jab" into the thigh method. A 7th grade boy was having an allergic reaction after eating a pine nut. The reaction had not progressed to the point of severe respiratory distress, but he was swelling up nicely. We also had to give him a steroid injection. He was SOOO scared of the shots and would not turn over (bum shots), telling his mom "I just can't do it!". Finally with four of us in there plus the mother, the other nurse and I gave him a double bum shot - one in each cheek at the same time (POOR KID!)- using everyone else to flip him over and hold him down. His little butt was so tense. Every time we checked on him after that he said "I'm fine, except for my butt!" He got a Finding Nemo shark sticker when he left. He still thinks stickers are cool.

Ok, so what happened to my comment section? Bum. Someone please help. Are all the old comments lost forever??
You have my email.

I have discovered Zinc Lozenges. The taste good and dissolve in your mouth. They are good for sore throats. A healthy cough drop alternative.

I was rather bored this evening so I went for a walk (also to get my mail because I am obsessed with checking the mail box). I went through this whole though process of what would happen if I locked myself out of my apartment on accident without my cell phone. I do not know my old roommate's phone number. She and her husband both have keys to my apt, and so does her mom in Arkansas. (Yeah, her mom decided to go ahead and make herself a copy of our apartment key while she was here visiting. She did not ask anyone, she just did it. She still has it. That is rather disturbing to me.) Anyway, I would have to get in touch with them to get back in. They do live across the tollway, so I would have to walk over there. But that would be dangerous. I wouldn't actually have to cross the tollway, just under it. But then if I got there and they weren't home I would have to walk back. The easy thing would be to call the apartment office, but I don't know that number. But of course someone else would, so I guess I could knock on random doors and ask. But I don't know what would happen after that. I wonder how easy it would be to scale the wall up to my balcony and try to open the locked sliding door. Probably tough.
So with all those random thoughts in my head, I had my keys carefully tucked away in my coat pocket. I really like my coat, by the way, because the pockets are kinda like the hobbit coat pockets. I like hobbit coats.
